Bellwood - Renovation
This captivating 1920s heritage bungalow has undergone a masterful transformation under the skilled guidance of Pac Studio. The meticulous renovation encompasses not only a thoughtfully crafted extension but also a reimagining of the existing layout, resulting in the inclusion of four bedrooms, two luxurious bathrooms, and a formal lounge.
The bungalow experienced a comprehensive overhaul that involved the installation of new piles, new roof and cladding, along with the integration of cutting-edge services and insulation. Throughout this process, timeless elements such as the Lead light timber joinery were lovingly preserved, a testament to the commitment to honoring the bungalow's heritage.
Yet, it is within the new 80m2 extension that the true enchantment of this endeavor unfolds. The roof design takes center stage, featuring an elegantly sloped mono-pitched structure punctuated by a subtle diagonal fold, where one corner gracefully ascends. This intricate roof, characterized by complex rafters, demanded meticulous craftsmanship, as each ceiling joist was custom-cut onsite. This endeavor, seemingly formidable on paper, was seamlessly orchestrated by Josh through CAD modelling, deconstructing the complexity into manageable components. The crowning glory of this unique roof is the Western Hemlock tongue and groove paneling which lines the ceiling inside.
Surrounding the house, Kwila boardwalk decks embrace its contours, creating a harmonious fusion between indoor and outdoor spaces. These decks, adorned with lush plantings of native and tropical flora. The rear deck includes an Escea outdoor fireplace, a cozy addition to enjoy the outdoors even on cooler evenings.
